She married Daniel McMillan on December 8, 1844, at the St. James Church in the Parish of Walton-on-the-Hill, in the County of Lancaster, at the Old Swan, by Henry Hampton, a minister.
Six children were born to them in Liverpool, England:

Jannett became converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was baptized a member on March 12, 1849. She and Daniel emigrated to the United States with other members of the church on May 10, 1863. The two oldest boys had to remain behind as they were apprentice students and had two more years to complete before they could go to Utah. They sailed on May 20 on the ship "Cynosure" with 775 other saints as part of what was called the 125th. The voyage took six long weeks as the water was rough and the ship's progress was slow. Once in the United States, they joined Captain Thomas E. Ricks ox team company and headed west. It was a hard journey but they all made it safely to Utah.
In 1965 they moved to Heber City, Utah where Daniel became the city blacksmith. Their boys joined them in 1865 and 1866. They were a family again. One was now a blacksmith and the other a printer.
Jannet's health was not very good. The long journey, the hardships and the worry of leaving her two boys behind took it's toll. She passed away 21 April 1869, at the age of 55. She is buried in the Heber Cemetery.
