He married Carol May Allred on Sept.10, 1954, in Helper, Utah. At that time, John was working on different jobs around Helper and Price. In the spring of 1955, he went to work in the mines at Moab, Utah.
In Oct 1955, they went to Salt Lake City, where John worked at the Lark mine at Lark,Utah. John and Carol lived in Kearns, Utah. While living there, the first daughter, Audary Gail, was born at Price Utah on April 9, 1956. The second daughter, Nancy Sue, was also born at Price on March 7, 1958. The first son, Thomas Clay, was born on May 25, 1961, in Midvale, Utah.
In Oct 1965, John and Carol moved to Anaconda, Montana, where John went to work for the Anaconda Company. He worked in the mines at Butte until 1966. The second son, Nathan Ruben James, was born in Anaconda on December 20, 1976.
He went to work at the smelter at Anaconda. He worked there until they closed the smelter in 1983. The second son, Nathan Ruben James, was born in Anaconda on Dec 20, 1976.
In 1984, John and Carol went to Tonopah, Nevada, to work in the smelter for the Anaconda Co. In 1985, they closed the smelter at Tonopah and they moved to Los Angles, Calif. John worked for the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angles County. They lived in Long Beach for two years and then moved to Newhall, Calif., until 1997 when John retired and they moved back to Helper Utah.

Audary and Paul Cox live in Price, Utah and have two daughters.
Nancy and Ernie Tucker live in Price, Utah and have five sons.
Thomas and Martha live in Helper, Utah and have two sons and one daughter.
Nathan and Beverley live in Price, Utah and have two daughters.
John has a wonderful family and his parents would be very proud of him and what he has accomplished in his life. He has a wonderful wife and good children.
